Requirements
Students who complete the following requirements will be eligible for the STEM endorsed diploma. See the following document for more information about the endorsement.

Benchmark 1: Capstone Project Idea
Students are required to develop a relevant, attainable Capstone Project idea. This will happen in the STEM Survey class.

Benchmark 2: Capstone Project Proposal
Students are required to develop a Capstone Project Proposal. The proposal will be written during the STEM Survey class (or an independent study) and will be approved by the Director and/or the Advisory Board.

Benchmark 3: Completed Capstone Project
Students will participate in a capstone project that will occur in the STEM Seminar class. These projects are selected from the Capstone Project Proposals written in the Survey class and are typically completed in teams of 3-4 students.

Benchmark 4: STEM Coursework
Students must complete all required STEM coursework relevant to the appropriate pathway. These are traditional classes offered at FRHS that will provide students with the content knowledge to complete their capstone projects and/or internships.

Benchmark 5: STEM Portfolio
Students must create an electronic portfolio that documents their experience in the STEM Academy and demonstrates how they developed the 21st Century skills.

Benchmark 6: Internship/Work Experience (optional)
Students may complete this experience at any point in their Academy experience through the
district Work-Based Learning program. Guidance and/or placement typically happens during the STEM Survey class.
